History repeating it self just like 2.4Ghz were great in the 80´s. Eero calls it business grade wifi I fail to see the resemblance.

However price will be a big issue. The Xclaim product from Ruckus Wireless is a good alternative. It gives a very good performance for in home Wifi. But whatever product will be used, measuring is the key answer. There are a lot of devices and obstacles in a house or building wich can cause even so many interference driving you mad when deploying a wireless network.

Lots of enterprise features at consumer pricing (and not a startup but at full throttle)

Ruckus positioned as too ‘enterpricey'(think Nokia in mobile). Eero and Luma are like the iphones of in Home networking – desirable, designed for consumer, achievable price point.

The idea was to improve performance in home for video and audio utilizing smart antenna arrays. They had a cpe device called metroflex that bridged wifi in from outdoor municipal mesh deployments and was a pretty good device for doing that. I still own one.
