Ben is a Wi-Fi technology and business specialist working with Operators to research, understand and deliver the optimal Wi-Fi connectivity experience. He founded and operates the SmartSwitch “policy on the device” product which provides connection management and analytics for the Android and iOS platforms.
Through the last 5 years Ben has been instrumental in defining the connection management landscape. He has analysed the Wi-Fi services of numerous high profile operators in Europe (such as Vodafone) and the US and provided insight into the customer experience on offer. Ben and his team pride themselves on their engineering approach to analysing the Google and Apple platforms at source code and detailed experimental levels to develop SmartSwitch, a connection manager built to enhance the deep inner workings of the host platform for the optimum connectivity experience.
Ben is an expert in ANDSF and has worked with the standard to develop a pragmatic and deployable capability which interoperates with various vendors such as Cisco. Chemring Technology Solutions is part of the Chemring Group and comes out of its sister company Roke in the UK, a 400 person organisation offering consultancy and R&D in telecommunications and cyber protection.
