Ben is the founder and director of Numerous Networks, a consultancy dedicated to providing better Wi-Fi experiences. Since 2009 he has become a recognized leader in the innovation of new technologies to bring Wi-Fi and cellular services together into one optimized user experience, a space widely known as ‘Network Convergence’.
He has worked with many global Network Operators, Cable Service Providers and Wi-Fi first service providers to enhance their Carrier grade Wi-Fi offering. Ben’s technologies and services have been used extensively to provide operators with insights into how smartphones select and move between mobile and Wi-Fi networks. He has led innovation teams to create solutions which can then better manage the selection of Wi-Fi while converging the Wi-Fi and cellular services together for the best networking experience.
As a deeply technical person, Ben has learnt the internal network selection systems used within Google and Apple platforms down to the source code and detailed experimental levels and as a result, develops technologies and services to map the deep inner workings of these host platforms to real world experiences. His personal network includes entrepreneurs, influencers and technology leaders in the organisations providing both 3GPP compliant and over-the-top or edge solutions to convergence, placing him well to guide and instrument the next convergence technologies and solutions.
Ben has worked as an entrepreneur and business leader at Roke, Chemring and Carnegei Technologies. More recently he has started Numerous Networks to provide consultancy and technical services to help anyone who wants to use Wi-Fi as a serious mobile offering and get the best experience out of their infrastructure. That involves ensuring Wi-Fi is ready for mobile while providing options to converge Wi-Fi and cellular together for the best uninterrupted user experience.
