claushetting — Fri, 25 Jan 2019 11:41:32 +0000

The FCC is blazing a trail to release the 6 GHz band to Wi-Fi perhaps already this year – but how will we get there and what are potential roadblocks on the path? How can the industry support this effort? What needs to be done in other countries to follow suit – is it even possible to develop a globally harmonised approach to 6 GHz Wi-Fi? What will be the business & technical impact on the industry? We’ll ask the industry experts and take questions from the audience.

claushetting — Fri, 25 Jan 2019 11:23:58 +0000

Late last year the US regulator decided unanimously to proceed with a process that will – perhaps already by end of this year – result in the release of up to 1.2 GHz of additional Wi-Fi (unlicensed) spectrum in the USA. But what can we expect will be the process to make this happen, and what could be the impact of such regulation? Will other countries follow suit and if so, when? We’ll get all the details from one the key influencers in the process to make Wi-Fi 6 available: Mr Chris Szymanski of Broadcom.
