Friendly WiFi is the world’s first safe certification standard for WiFi. Initiated by UK Government and industry, it is the only symbol that represents a standard of filtering that ensures that indecent images and inappropriate material are blocked from access on the WiFi service.
It is a vital part of the online safety journey to protect kids and young adults whilst out and about using WiFi services provided by shops, restaurants, trains, hotels, in fact, just about anywhere. Starbucks, Tesco and IKEA are examples of some of the brands who have had all their venues certified and are part of a fast growing number of brands and venues.
Although initiated in the UK, as this is a world’s first standard it is growing internationally. Friendly WiFi work with fast approaching 200 providers of WiFi services and certify their products and services to ensure they include the Friendly WiFi standard, providers who are based all over the world. There are venues in Europe, the US and Australia and Friendly WiFi are working with other countries to launch Friendly WiFi and the safe certification standard.
