Multi-dwelling units – or MDUs – is a coveted market segment for providers of managed Wi-Fi and now smart home services platform vendor Plume has developed a new AI and Cloud-based suite of products aimed at serving apartments as well as multi-family housing and other MDU residence types. Plume’s new ‘Uprise’ solution allows property managers and broadband service providers to manage and optimise their tenants’ connectivity experience ‘from move-in to move-out,’ Plume says.
The new solution is an extension of Plume’s well-known HomePass™ (residential broadband) and WorkPass™ (small and medium-sized business broadband) suites to the MDU market, the company says in a press release here. Among a range of benefits tenants are able to personalise their broadband experience through Plume’s apps for adaptive connectivity and AI-based security, Plume says.
The new services suite enables property-wide Wi-Fi connectivity – meaning tenant roaming for example into community, pool, and lobby areas of an MDU complex – while broadband service providers and property owners also benefit from a being able to select from a wide range of compatible Wi-Fi hardware, all operating according to the OpenSync™ framework.
The Uprise suite includes features and functionality for tenant lifecycle management, Wi-Fi optimisation, and property-wide SSID management. Currently more than 35 certified OpenSync devices – meaning CPEs of all types including Wi-Fi mesh units – are commercially available, Plume says.
Plume lands in Puerto Rico
Meanwhile Liberty Communications of Puerto Rico has become the first ISP in Latin America to deploy Plume’s smart home ‘SaaS Experience Platform’ as well as OpenSync at scale. ‘Liberty Puerto Rico’ has selected Plume’s HomePass™ services suite and Haystack™ support and operations suite to deliver their new Wi-Fi home services product dubbed ‘WOWfi’.
Liberty Puerto Rico’s new service package include adaptive Wi-Fi, parental controls, AI-based security, and whole-home motion awareness, Plume says in a press release here. Users can access the services via the Plume HomePass app. OpenSync-certified gateways are provided to Liberty Puerto Rico by Plume partners Adtran, CommScope, and Sercomm. Plume’s SaaS ‘experience platform’ is deployed in more than 43 million locations worldwide, the company says.
Plume and Adtran are Wi-Fi NOW partners.
