Binita Gupta is a Senior Technical Leader in Wireless Engineering group at Cisco Systems. She has more than 20 years of experience leading technology development of various wireless systems, products and services across Wi-Fi, 5G, private networks and IoT. Before joining Cisco in 2023, Binita served as a wireless systems architect at Meta, Intel and Qualcomm, driving wireless system design for products, and leading standards development in the IEEE 802.11, the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) and the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA). In her role as a voting member at the IEEE 802.11, Binita has been deeply involved in the development of 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) and 802.11bn (‘Wi-Fi 8’) amendments and has made many contributions in those task groups. She also participates in WFA working groups and has made contributions in WFA Wi-Fi 7 and QoS Management certification programs. Additionally, she has led Wi-Fi and 5G convergence projects at the WBA as Chair, Co-chair, and Chief Editor. Binita obtained a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA and is based in San Diego, California.
