VK Jones is a leader in the wireless technology industry and a central figure in the evolution of modern Wi‑Fi. He authored the seminal patent on MIMO‑OFDM and helped bring the first MIMO‑OFDM systems to market through companies he co‑founded, including Clarity Wireless and Airgo Networks. Over two decades, VK has played a defining role in IEEE 802.11, shaping standards from 802.11g through Wi‑Fi 8 and beyond, and leading global spectrum advocacy efforts such as opening the 6 GHz band. Today, he leads the WLAN, Bluetooth, and UWB technology teams at Qualcomm as Senior Vice-President of Engineering and Qualcomm Fellow.
