Entrepreneurship and global opportunities are hallmarks of the Wi-Fi industry and as of last week, the Kingdom of Bahrain has its own international enterprise, 5G FWA home gateway, & mesh Wi-Fi equipment manufacturer. The new company Infinite Clouds is betting on cost-effective performance and a distinct set of Cloud management features to take on major brandname competitors in its home region and beyond, the company says.
Last week Infinite Clouds – a subsidiary of Gulf Wireless City of Bahrain – became the Middle Easts’ first international Wi-Fi solution manufacturer. The company is betting big on the increase in demand for cost-effective residential and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions – both locally and internationally – and has already launched five home-grown Wi-Fi 6-capable solutions including two for the enterprise and several 5G FWA CPEs, the company says.
“We believe we have a real opportunity to become a strong regional Wi-Fi equipment provider based on excellent in-house knowledge and design capability – and from there, we of course want to expand across the globe. Our focus is to deliver the excellent performance and features that we know our current service provider clients are looking for and have difficulty finding at the right price point,” says Kamel Hubail, Founder & CEO of both Infinite Clouds and Gulf Wireless City.
Kamel Hubail says Infinite Clouds includes a solution to a recurring problem: Captive portals. “We’ve included a captive portal feature as standard so our clients no longer have to look for third-parties to provide this. We also believe we offer the highest gain built-in antenna in the business at 7 dBi for 5 GHz and 5.2 dBi for 2.4 GHz. This means excellent coverage and throughput performance,” says Kamel Hubail.
He also says that it is typical for service providers and enterprises in the region to become locked into less than optimal foreign vendors and that Infinite Clouds is now a strong, locally-backed alternative. “As Gulf Wireless City we’ve already deployed thousands of APs for a major carrier and we expect the demand to continue for both enterprise and residential solutions.
Infinite Cloud’s first two enterprise products are the Infinite 313 and Infinite 110 Wi-Fi 6 APs. The former delivers an aggregate throughput of 3.5 Gbps while the latter peaks at 1.6 Gbps. The APs are powered by Qualcomm Networking Pro 1210 and Networking Pro 400 Wi-Fi chipsets, respectively.
The company has also launched the Infinite 50, Infinite 60, and Infinite 353 5G FWA CPEs for homes and small businesses. Each CPE comes with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and all three are powered by Qualcomm chipsets, Kamel Hubail says. The company’s Cloud management solution – hosted on AWS – offers an unlimited number of access points under management as well as unlimited concurrent users per organisation. Features include access point auto-provisioning, traffic shaping & QoS, real-time monitoring, remote firmware upgrades, and more.
Praise from a new US partner
And while Kamel Hubail expects existing clients in the region will be delighted with the new equipment, the company is wasting no time in introducing their solutions to the US market. Infinite Clouds’ first US-based partner – Marine Network Services of Fort Lauderdale, Florida – says they are impressed by Infinite Clouds’ vision and leadership as well as by the company’s simple and innovative features.
“One of many Infinite Clouds benefits is the easy to use Cloud controller. It simplifies the process of adding a new AP to your network in that you don’t need to manually configure each device or install any software. Just plug in the access point, connect it to the Internet, and follow the instructions on the dashboard,” says Sato Ramdas, Network Engineer at Marine Network Services.
At Wi-Fi NOW we’re delighted to introduce Infinite Clouds as our newest Wi-Fi NOW partner. For more information contact CEO Kamel Hubail at this email address.
