1:50 pm - 2:10 pmAfter 25 years of Wi-Fi: Time to rethink testing? Main stageRead more »

Well-defined measurements and test setups, as defined by the IEEE and Wi-Fi Alliance, have been crucial to the global success of Wi-Fi. They have enabled the interoperability of billions of Wi-Fi enabled devices. Given this, it is an appropriate time to review our achievements and consider whether established test methods can persist for the next 25 years. With Wi-Fi set to expand beyond providing extreme fast connectivity, including sensing or ranging applications, and radios that will become more powerful with multi-link operation, dynamic spectrum management, and AI/ML-aided radios, it seems worthwhile that we reevaluate and rethink testing for future generations of Wi-Fi.
