We’re delighted to announce that Wi-Fi NOW has signed a landmark agreement with the WLAN Application Alliance (WAA) for the purposes of promoting global adoption of standards for WLAN quality, performance, and user experience. The agreement means that Wi-Fi NOW and WAA will be working closely together to further the common interests and aims of both organisations in supporting the continued success of WLAN and Wi-Fi services globally.
“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our efforts to standardise WLAN technologies globally. By joining forces with Wi-Fi NOW, we can enhance our international outreach and ensure our standards are recognized and adopted worldwide,” said He YANG, Executive Secretary of WAA, at the signing ceremony in Shanghai, China, on June 25.
“We’re excited to be collaborating with WAA in particular because we share a common vision for the future of WLAN and Wi-Fi services with focus on excellent performance and quality – these are essential components of the user experience, and they are critical for the future success of the WLAN and Wi-Fi industries. Our partnership with WAA also gives an opportunity for us to contribute to the WLAN industry in China, which of course is one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting WLAN markets,” said Claus Hetting, Wi-Fi NOW CEO & Chairman. The signing ceremony in Shanghai was attended by Yongmei Xu, Asia Business Development Director for Wi-Fi NOW.
“The partnership between WAA and Wi-Fi NOW is a strategic alignment that promises to bring numerous benefits to the global WLAN industry. By working together, these organizations aim to create a more cohesive and collaborative industry environment. This includes developing new business models, exploring market opportunities, and addressing technical challenges through combined expertise and resources,” WAA said in a press release here.
The World WLAN Application Alliance (called WAA) is registered with China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs. It is a non-profit independent legal entity dedicated to the development of the WLAN industry. WAA leads global efforts to create an open and internationally influential WLAN industry development platform, united with global industry partners, and to jointly build an international brand of Certification for Wi-Fi performance and experience.
