Bangalore-based Aprecomm last week announced that they’re teaming up with Brazil’s OpenGlobe to bring Wi-Fi quality of experience solutions to Latin America, a market of more than 100 million households. Aprecomm has quietly amassed a customer base of more than 50 mostly Asian ISPs serving millions of homes and is now eyeing global expansion for their hardware-agnostic Wi-Fi QoE solution, the company says.
Ensuring the Wi-Fi quality of experience within the home or enterprise continues to be a critical component of successful broadband service delivery and now Aprecomm is eyeing significant expansions into Latin American ISP and enterprise networking markets and beyond. Aprecomm is – as far as we know – the only entirely hardware agnostic, off-the-shelf, end-to-end Wi-Fi QoE solution on the market today.
“In the simplest terms what we provide is visibility into what broadband subscribers are doing and whether they are happy with the service or not. We then offer the ability for the service provider to make changes to optimise end-to-end QoE including monitoring of both Wi-Fi and access networks,” says Pramod Gummaraj, CEO of Aprecomm. The Aprecomm solution is designed to meet the specific operational QoE needs of ISPs and MSPs, he says.
Aprecomm’s new Latin American channel partner OpenGlobe says the Brazilian market is fertile ground for Aprecomm’s solutions. “This is something that Brazilian ISPs will want to buy because it improves service quality immediately and reduces churn. Aprecomm’s solution is better than the second-best option by a wide margin,” says Victor Fernando Proscurchin, CEO of OpenGlobe.
Brazil is home to thousands of ISPs and the new Aprecomm-OpenGlobe partnership is targeting the top 300 ISPs in the country. ISPs in other Latin American countries are also on the list of emerging opportunities, Victor Proscurchin says. He’s particularly impressed with Aprecomm’s speed of integration and deployment, which in one case led to completion of a PoC in just two weeks, he says.
Aprecomm says the strength of the solution lies in fast integration, flexible deployment options, and delivering the right data to strongly support the ISP’s technical, marketing, and cost-efficiency goals. “For one of our ISP clients we integrated our solution on 90 different CPE models in just three months. Our approach is making sure off-the-shelf integration of Aprecomm solutions is available towards all major Wi-Fi chipset providers. For flexibility the solution can reside in the Cloud or on premise depending on customer preference,” says Pramod Gummaraj.
Add to this that Aprecomm has designed the platform – including analytics on the network operations center (NOC) – with specific benefits and target groups in mind. “CTOs will want to make sure their networks are cost-efficient, optimised, and running smoothly also from a QoE point of view, while CEOs and ISP marketing departments are likely more interested in upselling opportunities, such as making sure home Wi-Fi coverage is excellent. We cater to all those needs with the Aprecomm NOC,” he says.
