Solutions for home Wi-Fi QoE are often part of a wider software solution for ISP operations that include a variety of functions and features (and sometimes hardware, too). The vendor stated below offer (in some cases) stand-alone QoE systems while also providing a variety of other ISP operational features. Our list is not exhaustive. If you are new to home broadband QoE we recommend you read our technology guide first. Read all our Plume coverage here.

WiFi NOW Perspective: Plume has recently changed its management and strengthened its focus on open-source platforms for service delivery including RDK-B and prpl (where previously the company was uniquely focused on only using its own OpenSync middleware platform). The recent acquisition of Ireland’s Sweepr customer experience management system is indicative that Plume has every intention of delivering a full suite of operational QoE management solutions for ISPs. Plume also recently established Plume Security Labs – read more about this here. Plume arguably created the remote (Cloud-based) Wi-Fi management and optimisation category (long before AI became fashionable) and is today one of the most mature platforms available. Another strength – in particular with regards to AI – is that the Plume footprint spans 65 million homes, which means the company has access to enormous amounts of data for AI learning and inferencing.
