South America may well be one of the most internationally neglected broadband growth markets in the world – but the opportunities presented in giant markets such as Brazil are not lost on connectivity QoE provider Aprecomm. The company this week announced that it is continuing its expansion into South America, this time by securing Brazilian fibre operator Nicnet as a new client. Nicnet will deploy Aprecomm’s full portfolio of AI-powered CX and CPE management solutions, Aprecomm says.
Fiber networking continues to be a massive success story in Brazil with nearly 80% of all Brazilian broadband connections based on fiber as of the end of last year. The growth rate has been impressive with 3.5 million new household FTTH connections deployed in just one quarter during 2025, the total reaching nearly 54 million connections at end 2025. But Brazilian operators are also starting to understand that broadband services are only as good as the in-home Wi-Fi service at the end of the fiber.

Aprecomm’s win with Nicnet – announced this week – represents a significant change in the fiercely competitive Brazilian ISP market, Aprecomm says. “With a high number of fiber providers, competition is intense. As a result, in-home Wi-Fi and overall customer experience have become key market differentiators. The trend is that providers are pivoting from a message built around broadband speed to one based on providing the best customer experience, using tools such as AI, data-driven automation to boost satisfaction,” says Pramod Gummaraj, CEO & co-founder of Aprecomm.
Nicnet will deploy Aprecomm’s full portfolio of AI-powered CX and CPE management solutions, including intelligent Wi-Fi optimisation and Cloud-based device management. Aprecomm’s platform enables remote upgrades of existing devices and seamless integration with Nicnet’s broadband gateways. Deployment of the first products is already underway, with coverage expected to reach 500,000 homes by the end of 2026, according to Aprecomm’s press release here.

Importantly, Aprecomm’s solution is fully hardware agnostic. Walter Kotani, Director of Networks at Nicnet, says the solution empowers Nicnet to drive sustainable growth while maintaining hardware independence. It also ensures ‘a superior and consistent experience throughout Nicnet’s expansion process,’ he says. Nicnet operates primarily in the interior of São Paulo state, home to an estimated 1,500 other ISPs. Approximately 20,000 companies – a staggering number – are formally registered as ISPs across Brazil, which among the largest number of ISPs for any individual country.
“We realised that many ‘slow Internet’ issues were due to Wi-Fi problems and local interference. Aprecomm comes in as the missing brain: an artificial intelligence that allows us to see what happens inside the customer’s home and fix issues in real time, often before the customer even picks up the phone to call our support,” Walter Kotani says.
The partnership with Nicnet is the most recent addition to Aprecomm’s whirlwind expansion into the region, which also includes partners in Argentina, Colombia, and Panama. Aprecomm says that the region is challenging for most but an excellent match to Aprecomm’s expertise from similar areas. “Our solution has been refined in developing markets such as India, where the complexity and challenges mirror those in Brazil and Latin America. These include intricate regulations, diverse network topologies, and a wide range of service providers—from independents to major incumbents. In such environments, success depends on tried and tested technology that is both robust and cost-effective,” Pramod Gummaraj says.
Aprecomm’s CX suite – designed to support both home broadband and business – is field-proven to enhance user experience and operational efficiency, the company says. Aprecomm was recently recognized with the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award for Innovation and named Analytics & Intelligence Champion and AI & GenAI Pioneer by The Fast Mode.
