By Claus Hetting, Wi-Fi NOW CEO & Chairman
Are you ready for more and better Wi-Fi in Latin America & Brazil? Well – it’s coming – because at Wi-Fi NOW we’re now ramping up activities in support of all the great Wi-Fi companies and projects in the region. Starting this week we’re providing weekly Spanish language mail blasts with original news and information from the region – with more to come. Big thanks to our sponsors Wi-Fi Alliance and GigNet Mexico for making this possible.
The entire team at Wi-Fi NOW have for a long time – and especially since our Cancún WWC event in May – been big Latin American and Brazil fans. Now finally we’re ready to support this great region more: As of today we’re announcing that our Spanish language Wi-Fi news service will be available on a weekly basis and – not least – we’re launching an information service specifically created for Latin American and Brazilian Wi-Fi companies to showcase their great work through us.
In the coming weeks and months we will be zooming in on how the business of Wi-Fi is expanding across the region as a result of great local innovation, wide adoption of new Wi-Fi standards, and not least regulatory adoption of the new 6 GHz band – which will fuel even more growth. We’re excited that we’re working with both Wi-Fi Alliance and GigNet Mexico as our key partners for this activity.
As always we will be covering the hottest topics in Wi-Fi with focus on the region:
- The evolution of smart home Wi-Fi by ISPs and leading vendors
- Public and enterprise Wi-Fi for venues large & small – and for affordable connectivity
- The road to full-band 6 GHz Wi-Fi for all of Latin America: Analysis & updates
- New Wi-Fi standards and innovation: What are they and how will they impact your business?

We’re also planning to return to the region with another live Wi-Fi World Congress in-person event next year – and we hope to announce this within a couple of months. We also plan to include Portuguese-language Wi-Fi news coverage shortly – stand by for more information on that.
For all our Wi-Fi colleagues in Latin America and Brazil: This is your opportunity to showcase your great work to the region – and to the world. Contact our Latin America director Maria Soriano to hear about how you can benefit from Wi-Fi NOW Latin America promotional and awareness-build services!
