Calix delivers full Wi-Fi 6 ‘Revenue Edge’ solution to Silver Star, Wyoming
ISPs should take responsibility for whole-home Wi-Fi services so that users don’t need to turn to consumer mesh products, says Calix. And so far their strategy is working: On December 17 Calix announced that Silver Star Communications – a Wyoming, USA-based ISP – will henceforth be using the entire Calix ‘Revenue Edge’ solution to power Wi-Fi 6-based home broadband services.
Silver Star has been deploying Calix’s Wi-Fi 6-capable GigaSpire BLAST solution since last year but is now expanding its services platform to include all of Calix’s ‘Revenue Edge’ capabilities. As a result Silver Star will be able to manage and monetize of the full Wi-Fi 6 user experience including access to data analytics, Wi-Fi service management, support, Wi-Fi optimisation, and more.
In their press release Calix says Silver Star has succeeded in achieving a remarkable 74% adoption rate for Calix’s CommandIQ™ mobile app with which the subscriber manages, monitors, and configures his or her suite of home Wi-Fi services. This means that Silver Star now “owns a direct channel to engage with subscribers instantly,” says Calix – and they are right, of course. The app can be branded according to the ISPs name, Calix says.
We’re also delighted to announce that Calix is a Wi-Fi NOW partner for 2021 – which means we will be bringing lots of news and information on the groundbreaking work done by Calix and the company’s clients right here on Wi-Fi NOW News. Watch this space.
